About Speedwaydownunder

Speedwaydownunder is a Facebook Page and website for the open wheel section 10 class of: Sprintcars, Midgets, F2 Midgets, TQ Midgets, Kiwi Kids.

Occasionally we will feature news items of interest of the other classes that compete in New Zealand such as Superstocks Super Saloons Modified Sprints etc…

We do live results from our Facebook page as they happen each meeting at the Springs and other tracks around the country we attend. With this website we will have speedway news complete official results from Western Springs driver interviews videos and a gallery of photos..

We are based in Auckland New Zealand. Our home track is Western Springs.

Meet the Team

Ziffel is the founder of Speedwaydownunder and has worked hard to get it where it is. Attending race nights and bringing you live updates, writing news articles and running the Facebook page. If you see him around on a race night don’t be shy to say hi.

Tracey joined sdu when we first got started and has a big input into the running of the page with her knowledge of all sections of speedway writing articles doing race previews and reviews also attending race meets to do live updates from which ever track she attends also has a handy knowledge of the other classes such as superstocks super saloons etc and from time to time will do feature articles of these classes and the odd live updates.

Kyle helps keep things in check and operates mostly behind the scenes for SDU. He fixes any technical issues and helps out with the Facebook page, edits pictures and memes and helps run the website.

Les has recently come on-board for the new 2016-2017 season and is our photographer. He is also recording and editing our driver interviews. Keep an eye out for some of his work as we head into the new race season. If you need some photography work you can get in contact with him through his Facebook page Pass The Salt Photography (Tell him we sent you).

Bri has recently come on board the SDU team as our driver interviewer, Read below to find out more about her.

I have been around speedway for as long as I can remember having had dad come to speedway for 40+ seasons. I have been attending roughly 17 seasons at the springs and travelling the upper north island to watch some meetings also. It’s been a big passion of mine and have rarely missed meetings, however now I date a midget driver I will be attending meetings nation wide. I enjoy the close racing and the atmosphere of it all and look forward to the upcoming season.
